Carmelo Hayes and Lexis King battled it out at WWE NXT Deadline.
Since October, NXT fans have been buzzing about the mystery surrounding the identity of Trick Williams’ attacker. Carmelo Hayes has often been accused of being the perpetrator, as he stood to gain from the attack, which came ahead of a Number One Contender’s Match for the NXT Championship. Hayes won the bout and went on to unsuccessfully challenge Ilja Dragunov for the gold.
In recent weeks, NXT Anonymous has posted footage that seemingly linked Hayes and Lexis King and implicated them in the attack. Determined to prove that he and King weren’t on the same page, Hayes threw down the challenge for a singles match between the two at NXT Deadline.
There, they clashed in a hard-fought match. In one highlight, both men went crashing from top rope and down to the floor. Hayes ultimately emerged victorious. His celebratory mood was ruined when King revealed that he was not the one who attacked Williams.
