Your Favorite Rappers & NBA Athletes Are Teaming Up For An Album

June 2024 · 1 minute read

Rappers and ball players have no problem switching up their trades, whether on the court or on wax. So it only makes sense (and cents) that the two parallel worlds mesh together for a compilation album. The Cherry Party, a newborn label in partnership with Sony Music, is delivering Full Court Press, Vol. 1, mixing up big rap names like Future, Rick Ross, The Game, Ma$e and Twista with ballers like Lamar Odom, Carlos Boozer, Iman Shumpert, Glenn “Big Baby” Davis and more.

Don’t expect any “Hot N***a” freestyles here as the project will solely promote “clean, positive and influential music.” Partial proceeds from record sales will be forwarded to the ‘NPlay Foundation, a charity that strives to end childhood obesity and has implemented physical education programs in schools countrywide.

The lead single “I’m A Champion” pits Shawn Marion, T-Pain, Dorrough and Young Cash. You can sing along to the lyric video above. A release date has yet to be announced.
