How Dare You Leave Me Out of Your Video!

Ariana Grande is giving fans life as she teases her star-studded "Thank U, Next" music video.

The video includes tributes to some of the most iconic films of recent decades, including Mean Girls.

But Lindsay Lohan was not part of that. And now, the star of the original film is speaking out about Ariana’s homage.

"Behind the scenes," Lindsay Lohan wrote in the caption.

She shared a photo from an undisclosed shoot.

"Ain’t nobody Lindsay Lohan like the real Lindsay Lohan," she writes.

It is difficult to dispute that.

"But," Lindsay writes. "So flattered by @arianagrande loving #MeanGirls so much!"

Lindsay’s post concludes: "Also, I love #dynasty"

It is not difficult to see what Lindsay was responding to.

Ariana has shared a number of behind-the-scenes glimpses of her "Thank U, Next" video.

In a group shot, she stands alongside Elizabeth Gillies, Courtney Chipolone, Alexa Luria, and Jonathan Bennett.

Jonathan is reprising his role as Aaron Samuels from the original film.

Ariana is playing Regina George.

Liz Gillies is playing Cady Haron.

Liz and Ariana have been friends in real life for years.

They co-starred on Victorious together, which is where many people first came to know them.

Before that, they co-starred (along with Graham Phillips) on Broadway.

These days, Liz Gillies stars as Fallon on The CW’s Dynasty.

It looks like Lindsay was saying that she cannot be replaced, but that she supports the woman who is taking on her iconic role.

Also, absolutely everyone loves Mean Girls.

This isn’t the first time that Lindsay has seen her role portrayed by someone else.

There is a Mean Girls musical, after all.

Notably, Ariana has gone out of her way to invite a number of former stars back.

This includes a lot of cast members from Bring It On.

For Mean Girls, it means Jonathan Bennett but also Stefanie Drummond.

Even people who don’t know Stefanie by name will recognize her.

"Thank U, Next" smashed records both on and off Spotify.

It’s a single, released with very little preamble.

Ariana only had weeks to compose, sing, and mix the breakup anthem.

She’s one of the greatest musical talents in human history and she has basically infinite resources, so of course she pulled it off.

Now that the song has resonated with so many people that it went Platinum in just a few weeks, Ariana’s churning out an incredible music video.

Honestly? We can’t wait to see it.

And we will be eager to hear Lindsay’s reaction, too.

Ariana’s song itself is about being grateful for one’s ex.

It’s not about wanting to get back with an ex, unlike so many songs.

Instead, it’s about having learned so much from past relationships with their ups and downs.

It’s about being happy that she had those experiences, and how they helped to shape her into the woman that she is today.

She is displaying a very healthy attitude, so shortly after having ended her engagement to Pete Davidson.

And it sounds like her fans are reveling in how confidently she is moving forward.

But seriously … when is this music video coming out?
