He spent his childhood years growing up in Perumbavoor, Kochi, Kerala.
In 2010, Shiyas Kareem was picked as the “Best Model” in the All India Model Hunt.
He made his first film appearance by playing the role of Warrior in the epic historical drama film Veeram, starring Kunal Kapoor, Shivajith Padmanabhan, Ahran Choudhary, Divina Thakur, Himarsha Venkatsamy, Ketaki Narayan, Bilas Nair, and Satheesh Menon. An adaptation of William Shakespeare’s play Macbeth and the 5th installment in director Jayaraj’s Navarasa series, the film premiered at the BRICS Film Festival on September 2, 2016, in New Delhi and was released on February 24, 2017.
Shiyas Kareem brought to life the character of a South Korean Goalkeeper in the 2018 Malayalam-language biographical sports drama film Captain, starring Jayasurya, Anu Sithara, Renji Panicker, Deepak Parambol, Saiju Kurup, and Siddique.
In 2018, he was cast in the Malayalam-language romantic thriller film Lolans.
He represented India at the Mr. Grand Sea International Model Hunt 2018 held in Bulgaria. He made it to the finals and was selected in the top five along with contestants from Brazil, Bulgaria, Sri Lanka, and Iraq.
Shiyas Kareem was seen as Marakkar’s Assistant in the Malayalam-language epic historical action film Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea (titled Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham in Malayalam) in 2021. Based on the fourth Kunjali Marakkar named Muhammad Ali (the admiral of the fleet of the Zamorin), the film’s lead cast included Mohanlal, Arjun Sarja, Suniel Shetty, Ashok Selvan, Prabhu, Nedumudi Venu, Mukesh Madhavan, Siddique, Manju Warrier, Keerthy Suresh, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Suhasini Maniratnam, Innocent Vareed Thekkethala, Mamukkoya, Hareesh Peradi, Santhosh Keezhattoor, and K.B Ganesh Kumar.
He stays fit by working out on a regular basis.
He played the role of Kiran in the 2021 Malayalam thriller film Guardian, starring Saiju Kurup, Miya George, Sijoy Varghese, and Nayana Elza.
