After any key award show, most celebrities head to the afterparties to rub shoulders with their equally famous friends and potentially meet their future spouses—like Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra, who credit an Oscars afterparty with their first meetup.
But last night, after the Billboard Music Awards, Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas chose to get married instead—in Las Vegas, no less. The couple headed to Chapel L'Amour, inside the A Little White Wedding Chapel, to exchange vows in front of friends and family, including Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra, Kevin Jonas and his wife, Danielle, as well as singers Diplo, Khalid, Dan + Shay, and Turner's fellow GOT star Maisie Williams, People reports.
And what does the bride wear to an impromptu Vegas wedding surrounded by (some) of her dearest family and friends? Apparently, a white silk jumpsuit by Ukranian label BEVZA, complete with a bouffant veil. The label is best known for their bustiers, minimal slips, and crop tops—most notably their Instagram-famous pearl top, which would also suit a non-traditional bride. Turner paired the look with Loeffler Randall's gold "Penny Knot" mules.
While the jumpsuit Sophie donned down the aisle is no longer available, the brand features a number of all-white styles on their site, which feel equally aisle-appropriate. Turner and Jonas adorably exchanged ring pops at the altar, a hint that a more formal and serious wedding is in the works. After their vow exchange, the two posed atop a pink convertible, with their ring pops and sunglasses, for an impromptu wedding portrait session.
Fans were anxiously awaiting more details about the couple's upcoming wedding reportedly taking place in France this summer. The couple appear to have sent save the dates out for their celebration in the south of France late last year; their life coach, Mike Bayer, posted a video of his invitation on Instagram that has since been taken down, showcasing a small taste of Sophie and Joe's French-inspired wedding details, and their monogram.
As for what Sophie will wear down the aisle in France, it likely won't be as laissez-faire as this Vegas wedding jumpsuit—but it will certainly be just as fashion-forward and fun. Turner's work as a brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton has us thinking that she will sport a bridal gown designed in collaboration with Nicolas Ghesquière for her formal ceremony in France. She'll likely change into a second (if not a third) look for the reception and dancing to follow.
One thing is certain, Sophie and Joe are not planning as many weddings and receptions as their brother and sister-in-law, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra. Jonas and Chopra's wedding in India featured two ceremonies, countless events, and dinner receptions in a multiple cities. Each event (naturally) required unique fashion, including custom bridal looks by Ralph Lauren, Marchesa, Ralph & Russo, and Indian designer Sabyasachi, to name a few. Joe Jonas joked on The Late Late Show that he would “stick to one wedding,” and that he learned “what not to do” from his brothers’ nuptials.
